While it’s most important to follow your doctor’s recommendations, most doctors recommend wearing the garment for 3 to 6 weeks, many patients, myself included, feel it necessary to wear the garment even longer, sometimes up to 6 months or a year. That’s because the garment gives you a great sense of security and feeling of “held-togetherness” that makes recovery much easier.
If you plan on wearing a compression garment for several weeks, you may be interested in our Recovery Kits. The Recovery Kits contain one zippered style, one non-zippered style, and a complimentary panty.
The zippered garment is true to size to accommodate swelling and the zippers make it easier to dress during the initial recovery phase. As your swelling subsides, you can begin to wear the non-zippered garment with added inner compression panels that are contoured to shape and mold tissue.
